Restaurant AVA - 22nd and 23rd January 2006

Once again, Jack and Amalia at Restaurant AVA are hosting the event. January 22 will be a nice dinner auction with acoustical music, we are looking for good items to auction off and an auction only crowd. The 23rd will be all music and entertainment, we will have another street party. Ruth Hazelwood and Jen Hyden of Experience MexECO and Experince MexECO Tours will be organizing the event, they are quite talented. A tour to turtle camp with their company is suggested, their office is above The Calypso Cafe in Melaque.

Tickets are available at the door or from Restaurant Ava or Experience MexECO after Jan 1st 2006. Restaurant Ava is located on Alvaro Obregon in Melaque, one block from the beach.

Ayuda a los Niños
1/8/06

Hi again Tom, I am getting ready to move to Guadalajara and wanted to touch bases with you one more time. The January benefit event at AVA is presented by Ayuda a los Ninos this year, it will be a two day event. January 22 is a dinner auction, January 23 is a night of music, a street party. There will also be a raffle for a stay at Tamarindo too. Proceeds from the event and raffle will go to schools in the area, Centro de Atencion is a part of the school system here and will receive some of the proceeds from this event. This thing has gotten big, ask Jack, we didn't think it'd get as big as it has, but that's great. The first year we had about 230 people attend the auction and concert, the second year we moved it to the street and around 550 people attended. This year could see lot's of people attend this event, it would be great to see 1,000 people in attendance.

Jack and Amalia are hosting the event for the third year in a row. It is getting so big it will be moved to a larger location in 2007. They have done a wonderful job of hosting this event and deserve a huge thank you from this community. Jack, Andy Forbes and Ruth Hazelwood, along with many other people are organizing this upcoming event. I encourage any and all in the community to come to the auction and concert, it's a fun time and money is raised to help the kids in this area. If anyone wants to volunteer to help out at the concert, let Jack, Andy or Ruth know.

Tomzap is a great place to advertise any and everything for this area. Thank you for posting the school's website on tomzap and supporting Ayuda a los Ninos.

Best regards,
Richard
