The Big House

The Big House was built in the early 1900s as the ranch house for this privately-owned ranch. It is adobe construction with large rooms and high ceilings. Every room except for the kitchen and bathrooms has a fireplace. The original structure consisted of the 3 rooms and porch in front. The three bedrooms in back were added later. The house does show its age, somewhat more than is seen in the photos. The floor tiles are crumbling around the edges and the floor is uneven in places. The paint on the adobe is peeling due to moisture intrusion. Nevertheless it is a charming and comfortable home. One cannot help but ponder the history it has seen.
