La Manzanilla is a small beachfront community of about 3000 located 10-1/2 miles (17 km) northwest of Melaque, or 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Barra de Navidad. The turnoff to La Manzanilla is located at GPS 19°17.57'N 104°46.83'W on coastal highway 200, Km 13, marked by a prominent statue of dolphins.

La Manzanilla has a long, curving, gently sloping beach with gentle surf extending for about a mile. Good swimming, diving. The restaurant on the right at the end of the road has a couple of rooms for rent. There is also an inexpensive hotel in the town. Numerous palapa restaurants line the beach. You can hike the beach west to Boca de Iguanas, about 4 miles.
