Best Mexican Restaurant: El Quince on Acala or La Jacaranda on Garcia Vigil. Nothing fancy, just good Mexican food.
Best Breakfast: Marco Polo on Pino Suarez.
Best Romantic Dining: Los Danzantes Macedonio Alcalá No. 403-4. Ambiance is exquisite, unmatched elsewhere.
Best Fine Dining: La Catrina de Alcalá M. Alcalá #102. Most attentive wait staff and executive chef; beats out Casa Oaxaca, easily.
Best Pizza: Vieja Lira Pino Suarez #100. Thin crust pizza and pasta dishes.
Best Hamburger: Hamburguesas al Carbón Av. Universidad (Plaza del Valle).
Best Baked Goods: There are many to choose from, but centrally located is Pasteleria Bamby on Porfirio Diaz a couple of blocks from Independencia. Great selection.
Best Street Food: Comedor Maria Theresa at the Mercado 20 de Noviembre. Inexpensive, many options, warm hospitality.
Best Dining Value: ??
Best Comida Corrida: Fonda Mexicana on 20 de Noviembre. Close to the markets and caters to locals.
Best Margarita: La Biznaga Garcia Vigil #512. There seems to be little doubt about this one.
Best Bar: El Paseo for older and middle class; you won't feel out of place.
Best Pool Hall: Liverpool at Las Casas and 20 de Noviembre. Lots of tables, poll and billiards. English-speaking players.
Best Grocery Store: ??
Best Car Rental: Hertz by a long shot. They do not mislead like Europcar does; avoid Europcar at all cost.
Best Auto Mechanic: Ranolfo Eduardo Villafańe Sanchez 044 (951) 103-7159 (cell). Vega 619, entre Xicotencatl y 3ra Priv. La Noria. Honest, goes out of his way to be helpful, will provide formal invoices (facturas) useful for insurance claims, refers customers to others when the work is not in his areas of expertise. Does not speak English.

Best Refrigerator Repair: Centro de Servicios Yescas on Huzares, for their efficiency and service.
Best Computer Repair: AOKSYSTEM on Las Rosas. Honest, reasonable and humble.
Best Lawyer: ??
Best Notario: ??
Best Realtor: ??
Best Accountant: ??
Best Dentist: Daniel Tenorio for general dentistry, speaks English. Eduardo Javier Flores Corzo for root canal (reasonable, with gentle touch).
Best Doctor: ??
Best Bank: Banamex any branch but especially the one on Col. Reforma. Efficiency unmatched in the city.
Best Book Store: Amate on Alcala. Lots of English books with variety to suit most.
Best Magazine Stand: ??
Best Hardware Store: ??
Best Tile Store: Materiales Venezia Great selection including talavera, and with 3 branches to serve you.
Best Farmacia: Ahorro but stay away from the branch on Alcalá (more expensive). They now have free medical consult to get antibiotics filled and price and selection is as good as anywhere else; reliable.
